It’s Nijo! Good morning!!
Are you still regretting yesterday’s mistakes? Let’s start today bright and cheery!
【Surpassing Your Threshold Value】
Your ‘threshold value’ is the borderline area you return to if you do not accomplish what you must to surpass your threshold value.
If you do not continue trying until you pass your threshold value, you do not acquire anything.
That is true in sports, music, human relationships and everything else.
What you put effort into during your student years, you surpassed your threshold value.
For example, a person who played the guitar as a student had much time to play every day, thus improved his/her playing.
However, since starting to work, the person became busy and hasn’t touched a guitar in six years.
Just because the person hasn’t played the guitar for six years, definitely doesn’t mean he/she returns to a beginner.
If you hand the person a guitar, he/she will be able to play even after six years of not playing.
A person’s playing will never return to that of a beginner.
This is what you call surpassing your threshold value.
The same goes for work.
What is most important is to become completely absorbed in what you are doing and to try as hard as you can.
Without this, there is no success.
Some people might think I’m spouting spiritual theories again.
There are also probably people who think that it is useless to blindly try as hard as you can.
I do not think so. I believe that ‘quantity surpasses quality.’
In the end, whoever tries the hardest wins.
A person who tries half-heartedly is half-hearted at everything.
It is important to try and accomplish what is in front of you in the spirit of losing oneself.
Surpassing your threshold value.
Are you surpassing yours?
